Expansion Awakens the Need for a Unique Solution

Though Parker and Morgan laid its foundation in Asia, the popularity of their products has extended to four countries and three continents. They have operations in Hong Kong, Bangkok, Singapore, Sidney and the United States, along with web stores in Sidney, physical stores in Bangkok and a marketing department in Singapore. Their recent expansion into the United States has laid the foundation for their ambitious goal of opening 300 new stores within the next five years.

Parker and Morgan’s vigorous international expansion has resulted in very unique complexities in the way that their business operates. The software system that was being used in the Asia offices would not be able to handle the growth or the international facets of the business. Once they expanded to the United States, Parker and Morgan’s experienced operators knew that a strong and robust system was going to be essential for the survival and growth of the North American chain. Their number one goal was to install a multifunctional system that could integrate all of the different aspects of their business as well as assimilate the multiple languages, currencies and cultures that they cater to. They needed a product that could encompass accounting and warehousing, connect the point of sale operations throughout multiple locations, support web stores in each region and also one that contained a marketing component.

Around-the-Clock Implementation Leaves Little Opportunity for Sleep

Answers began their partnership with Parker and Morgan on December 28th and successfully completed the implementation of Sage Accpac by February 1st. It was completed flawlessly in record time. Answers worked around the clock to ensure all parties could be involved in the implementation process, even the stakeholders overseas. To avoid miscommunications between different languages, Answers even brought in international partners to help with training. Jan Senecal, from Answers Accounting comments, “We found Sage Accpac partners in Bangkok and Sidney that we could work with. The beneficial thing about Sage Accpac is that it crosses boundaries and has diversity across the globe that other products do not.”

One reason for the quick and seamless implementation of Sage Accpac was that the program is so robust and comprehensive, that Parker and Morgan had all of their needs met through the software as if it was out-of-the-box. “The only thing that required customization was the web store because of the look and feel,” reflects Jan. “We really put a lot of thought into how they would use the system.” This foresight allowed Parker and Morgan to provide a quality product in a short amount of time. “We were very satisfied as to how the software was implemented,” comments David.

Parker and Morgan is now up and running on a product that is so functional and efficient that they are saving thousands of hours of work each year. Their employees have quickly learned the easy-to-use system and are happily completing their day-to-day tasks without any complications.

“All the different aspects of Sage Accpac are integrated, creating one smooth, allencompassing program, and all of the third party systems are working beautifully, as well,” stated David. One of the most impressive benefits of the system is that it was modified so that entry could be keyed in Chinese. “We modified the actual screen monitor to have different letters and symbols, so when data is entered in Chinese, it is automatically translated into English,” remarks Jan.

Answers is giving Parker and Morgan a chance to get stable and accustomed to their new system. “We’re keeping in touch and watching them grow in their successful ventures,” comments Jan. “We couldn’t be happier with the results.”
