How Well do you know Chris Gampe?

You probably would recognize the voice of Chris Gampe, even if you wouldn’t recognize her in person. That’s because she provides technical support over the telephone and is a wizard at troubleshooting any number of our clients challenges. As a Certified Consultant, Chris has been with Answers Accounting for nearly seven years. She is known as the “go to person,” and does data repairs and custom report writing. When she isn’t working, Chris loves photography and can be found in the outdoors shooting pictures of flowers and other wildlife or scrapbooking her favorite photos. And, to say that Chris loves Hawaii would be an understatement. At least once a year, Chris will sneak in a trip to the islands where she enjoys snorkeling, boating and relaxing while taking in the beautiful scenery. This month, however Chris is looking forward to an Alaskan Cruise…so be sure to ask her how she enjoyed her vacation when she returns. Having established great relationships with our clients, Chris is most proud of all that she has accomplished in her career and Answers Accounting is fortunate to have Chris as part of the team!

New Feature to make your Job Easier!

Do you ever find yourself pulling items from inventory for in-house or company use? If so with the release of Sage Accpac version 5.5 you can now process one transaction to record the expense and remove the items from inventory. In the Inventory Control module under the I/C Transactions folder you will find a new icon labeled “Internal Usage”.

By double clicking on this icon you will open the I/C Internal Usage form.

You can press the tab key to accept the program assigned number or enter your own internal usage number up to 22 characters long. Next you will enter the usage date and posting date (the posting date will determine the Year/Period you will post the transaction in the General Ledger). You may then add an optional description and reference information. In the “Used By” field enter or if you use the US Payroll module you can choose employees from the Finder. Optional Fields data may be entered by clicking on the zoom button (blue triangle). Your last step is to add the detail lines in the grid below specifying the Item Number, Category, Location, Quantity, and Unit of Measure. The default a “Usage Account” is displayed but can be overridden on a detail line basis. When you are ready click on the “Save” (if you will return later to finish) or the “Post” button; when asked if you wish to delete choose no unless your company always deletes posted transactions. (You cannot view or drill down to transactions if you delete them.) After posting Run Day End Processing to update Inventory Control’s audit data, costing data (if you cost during Day end Processing), and item statistics after posting internal usage transactions.

Troubleshooting in Windows Vista

Are you among the many people experiencing the frustrations of Windows Vista? If so, here’s a technical tip for fixing common driver problems that may help you troubleshoot through some of your issues. When hardware installed in or attached to a computer doesn’t work properly, it is often because of a driver problem. If you had a device on your computer that used to function properly but is no longer operating, try these quick tricks:
1. You may need an updated driver. Updated drivers are available through windows Updates. When you check windows Updates, click View Available Updates to see if an updated driver is available for your device.

2. If you can’t find a new driver through Windows Updates or from the manufacturers website, find the disc that came with the device and put it in the CD Drive. With the disc in the CD Drive, update the driver for the device.
